AROCAST GOLD COLOR TYPE III ALLOY

recommended procedure

SPRUNG: Use direct spruing with reservoir for single units. for bridges, use indirect spruing.

INVESTING: Use a high-heat phosphate bonded investment. Do not use investment that contains carbon.

BURNOUT: Place a ring in cold burnout furnace and gradually bring up to 1500°F (816°C) After reaching burnout temperature, heat-soak rings for one hour.

CASTING: Use single orifice tip and oxygen (appr. 20 psi) with natural or propane gas. Preheat the crucible. Do not use crucibles that contain carbon. Place ingots in the crucible. Carefully heat the ingots in a slow circular motion. Maintain even heating. When the ingots being to slump, then cast the alloy. Do not overheat the metal.

FINISHING: After 5 minutes, quench the casting. Sandblast and finish using normal gold crown & bridge finishing technique.

CAUTION:
DO NOT USE AMMONIA WHEN CLEANING
DO NOT USE CRUCIBLES OR INVESTMENTS
CONTAINING CARBON DO NOT OVERHEAT METAL
DO NOT USE PICKLING SOLUTIONS

SOLDERING: Use same techniques and materials as used for Type III Gold. Put the flux on the solder, not the crown.
