recommended procedure
WAXING:8-10 gauge sprues, direct casting for single units and indirect method for multiple units.
INVESTING: Any carbon free high heat investment is recommended. Use non-asbestos ring liner. Bench set 1 1/2 Hrs. Place in cold furnace and gradually bring up to 1650°F. Hold for 1 1/2 hrs.
CASTING: High Heat quartz crucibles are recommended, along with a multi?orifice torch, using a gas/oxygen mixture or in an electric induction casting machine. When the ingots completely slump the alloy is then ready to be cast. After casting, bench cool to room temperature.
FINISHING: Grind the metal with non?contaminated aluminum oxide stones. After grinding, blast with non?recycled 50 micron aluminum oxide, and clean in distilled water in ultrasonic cleaner for ten minutes.
DEGASSING: Place the castings in the furnace at 1200°F (650°C) and raise to 1800°F (980°C) with full vacuum. No hold. Remove of oxide is optional.
OPAQUE: Apply opaque wash and bake. Then full opaque coat and bake.
